The University of Miami is pleased to launch the Miami Engineering Distinguished Seminar Series, a monthly event where a renowned speaker, selected by different departments, will be invited to present a keynote talk. All seminars will be available both in-person and online.

Dr. Yonggang Huang​
Achenbach Professor, Northwestern University
Yonggang Huang is the Achenbach Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Materials Science at Northwestern University. A member of the US National Academy of Engineering, National Academy of Sciences, and multiple international academies, he specializes in stretchable electronics and 3D assembly. He has published over 700 journal papers, including in Science and Nature, and is a Highly Cited Researcher in multiple fields. His recent honors include major international research awards and a renamed Engineering Science Medal in his honor. He has also received multiple teaching and advising awards, including the Cole-Higgins Teaching Award twice. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Applied Mechanics Reviews, significantly increasing its impact factor.

Dr. Craig H. Benson
University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Virginia
Craig H. Benson is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Dean Emeritus at the University of Virginia. A geoenvironmental engineer, his expertise includes waste management, containment systems, recycling, and sustainability. Benson holds degrees in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University (BS) and the University of Texas at Austin (MSE, PhD). He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
