MARIO BERUVIDES
Professor in Practice, Industrial and Systems Engineering
Dr. Mario G. Beruvides is a faculty member at the University of Miami in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering. Prior to his service at UM, Dr. Beruvides was a faculty member at Texas Tech University for 30 years in the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering department.


CRAIG GOTSMAN
Professor in Practice, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Craig Gotsman is a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. He is the former Dean of the Ying Wu College of Computing and Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). As dean there, he established a new research Institute for Data Science, a new department of Data Science, introduced new degree programs, including the MS in Artificial Intelligence, and launched a new satellite location dedicated to graduate-level studies in Jersey City, doubling enrollment from 2,400 to 4,800 students and research expenditures from $7M to $14M.


XIANMING SHI
Professor & Chair, Civil and Architectural Engineering
Xianming Shi is a professor and the Chair of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering. He is known for his significant contributions to civil engineering research, teaching, and professional service; in particular, his research has resulted in a mechanistic understanding of how nanoscience and nanoengineering can benefit infrastructure durability and enable sustainability. Known for his contributions to developing carbon-neutral and carbon-negative concretes, one of Shi’s notable projects includes the surface treatment of biochar products to enable greater dosage being used in concrete.
