The College of Engineering Machine Shop provides students with machine use instructions along with research project fabrications through its inventory of manual (Engine) Lathe stations. The Lathe stations are industry level and quality for the assurance of safe and proper function throughout. Pictured are South Bend TURN-NADO EVS model lathes.

South Bend 16" x 60" Vari-Speed Gap Bed Lathe. Serial No. 113CH - Model EVS. Swing Over Bed: 16-1/4"; Swing in Gap: 23"; Swing Over Carriage: 10-3/8". Center Distance: 60". Spindle Speeds: Var. 20 to 2500 RPM. Spindle Nose: D1-6" Camlock. Hole in Spindle: 2-1/16". Feeds and Threads: Inch/Metric. Motor: 7-1/2 HP and Complete Electrics. Complete With: 10" 3-Jaw/4-Jaw Chucks; 5C Collet Attachment; Digital Read-Out (DRO) “X” and “Z” axis only, Coolant system; Chip Pan, and Dorian Tool Block.
